Microsoft recently rolled out a game changing new SharePoint List feature that is going to dramatically increase the usefulness of lists. The "New List Experience" allows you to create forms from your SharePoint or Microsoft List that can be shared with anyone in your organization without having to grant them access to the list.
SharePoint New List Experience In Action
Prior to the release of this feature, if you wanted to collect information from a large number of users and store it in a list, you would have either had to grant those users access to the list which would expose the full list to them or you would have had to use Microsoft Forms and Power Automate (as I demonstrate in this tutorial). With the new list experience, once a user submits the form, the information will be passed to your list and saved as a new item. The new list experience also provides you with the some basic capabilities to customize the form appearance, including hiding and showing certain fields, changing the color theme and more. You can also stop accepting responses from the form at any time. If you want to learn more about this feature, check out the Microsoft announcement article here.
New Feature: Prefill Responses in Microsoft Forms
Microsoft recently added a new feature to Microsoft Forms that allows you to pre-fill questions on a form before distributing to users. This feature is useful where you want to streamline data collection or pipe-in values for your respondents to ensure data accuracy and integrity. The example below is showcasing this feature in the context of a survey being conducted to collect feedback on a training session. Using the pre-fill URL feature, the surveyor is pre-populating the name of the training session, the date of the training session and the name of the instructor.

Bye Bye "General" Channel in Microsoft Teams
In my experience, you either love or hate the "General" channel in Microsoft Teams. As a refresher, whenever a new Team is created, a default channel is also created in the Team that is named "general". Up until now, you could not remove the channel. This was a major pain point for many users for a number of reasons. One reason for this is that channels are organized in alphabetical order and if you have developed a very specific structure for your Team, the general channel may mess it up. Additionally, the general channel may be accidentally used for conversations that should be had in a more specific channel. I could keep going but, you get the point. Well, Microsoft has listened to users and has rolled out the ability to hide the general channel. Check out the GIF below to learn how to do it.

New Content Feature: Highlight a Selected Item in a Power Apps Gallery
Well, I am a little late to the Microsoft Power Apps party but, they say it's better late than never right? Over the past few weeks, I have started to publish YouTube tutorials on Microsoft Power Apps. I have recently begun developing Power Apps and have managed to struggle my way through two of them to date. Thanks to Microsoft Learn and other fellow creators, I've learned a lot and will be looking to share some of my learnings with others.
Highlight the Selected Item in a Power Apps Gallery
In the video below, I demonstrate how you can highlight the selected item in a Power Apps gallery. This is basic feature of most modern apps to easily note which data record is selected and is being displayed on a form. The best part about implementing this, is that it literally takes one IF statement. Don't believe me? Click here to see for yourself.

Archive Content Feature: Modifying SharePoint List Ribbon Using JSON
Did you know that you can use JSON syntax to format SharePoint Lists? I have several videos that demonstrate only some of the amazing stuff that you can do in SharePoint using JSON. One of the other awesome ways that you can JSON is to customize the SharePoint ribbon. In this video (and as outlined below), I demonstrate how you can hide the export to Excel button from the SharePoint ribbon. If you want to learn how to do it, check out the video here.
